McLean, Va., Feb. 25, 2010 – SPADAC, a leading provider of spatially enhanced technology solutions, has hired Dr. Colleen McLaughlin McCue as program manager supporting the company’s work with the Department of Homeland Security. McCue is an internationally recognized expert credited with pioneering the application of predictive analytics to crime analysis and violence prevention in law enforcement settings.

McCue is the author of “Data Mining and Predictive Analysis: Intelligence Gathering and Crime Analysis,” and she is in the process of completing a second text on the use of predictive analytics in homeland security and counterterrorism. She has extensive experience, education and training in the areas of behavioral analysis and crime investigations with organizations such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Richmond Police Department and the Virginia State Police. McCue is a frequent speaker at international conferences on topics including defense, fraud, law enforcement, national security, predictive analytics and violence prevention.
Over the past two years, SPADAC has worked closely with DHS to support its fusion centers in California, New Jersey and Illinois in the use of predictive analytics to prevent and fight crime. McCue will play a key role in helping SPADAC further expand its predictive policing solutions for local and state law enforcement teams, leveraging her experience in the areas of surveillance detection, threat and vulnerability assessment, and behavioral analysis of violent crime patterns.

McCue earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois in Chicago and her doctorate in psychology from Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H. She acquired additional training through a postdoctoral fellowship with the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University.
